Laur Kennedy is an artist and photographer based in London, England. They received a BA in Photography from the University of Brighton with First Class Honors in 2021.
Their work takes on a diaristic approach to daily life, embracing themes of the past and projections of the future. Taking inspiration from experimentation and process, they utilise both traditional and alternative processes; Kennedy's interests lie in photography as a therapeutic practice and how to effectively tell a story through visual imagery.
Kennedy uses a combination of snapshot photography and self-portraiture to wade through difficult emotions. Their work is concerned with their queer identity and diaspora. Significant work includes Seeing Pink, 2021, an expression of anger and confusion from being shoved into girlhood, a place they do not belong.
